Punter

  • FBS/FCS: 40+ yard average, 4.5 second hang time.

  • D2: 38+ yard average, 4.3 second hang time.

  • D3/NAIA: 35+ yard average, 4.0 second hang time.

Long Snapper

  • Snap time of 0.75 seconds or faster with consistent accuracy. Coaches generally value reliability and placement over raw snap speed.

 

Important Recruiting Note

No college coach recruits based solely on height, weight, or statistics. Recruiting decisions also consider:

  • Game film and football IQ

  • Athleticism and verified testing

  • Academic performance

  • Character and coachability

  • Positional need

  • Overall upside and long-term development

 

These guidelines represent common recruiting benchmarks rather than guaranteed requirements.
